Evelyn Lillie Stone (Stoney) of Talihina, Oklahoma, died February 21st, 2017 at the wonderful age of 104. She was born September 14th, 1912, in Madison, Nebraska, to William and Ann Louisa Botteicher. She came to Oklahoma at the age of 12 and they resided in Howe, Oklahoma. She married Dewey Stone, the love of her life at the age of 18 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until he passed away.

Survivors include: Daughter Lana Stone, Talihina, Oklahoma; Grandson Jimmy and Teresa Bryant, OKC, OK; Granddaughter, Tia and David Sipe, Talihina, Oklahoma; Great Grandsons, Matthew Bryant, McAlester, OK; Dusty Bryant, Del City, OK; Joshua and Rheana Bryant, Blanchard, OK; Bailey Zachary, Talihina, Oklahoma. Great-Great Grandchildren include: Bentlee, Oaklynn, Reece, Colton, Raylee, Jagger, and Jolee Kait.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, William and An Louisa Botteicher; Husband, Dewey Stone; 2 brothers, 1 sister and many loved ones.

Evelyn was a caring, loving woman who always had a kind word and smile for everyone. SHe was always "helping the elderly" through the age of 90 until the family took her driver's license away. Her passion was music and she was the piano player for the Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, Nursing Home, Veteran's Center and anyone who would listen. She retired after 24 years at the TB Sanitorium/Veterans Center. She would spend her lunch hour running errands for the patients. She was with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for 6 years, volunteered as a cook for the Talihina Senior Citizens Group every Wednesday, a member of the local Sewing Club, Talihina Parade Grand Marshall in 1994 and was the Talihina Choctaw Nation Senior Citizens Valentine Queen.

Pall Bearers include: Jimmy Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Dusty Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Bailey Zachary and Michael Hampton. Honorary Pall Bearers include: David Sipe, John Welsh, Donnie Faulkner, Andrew (Peaches) Wade and Pat Imes.

A celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Talihina First United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Baker, followed by burial at the Talihina New Cemetery.

Evelyn's philosophy was: Life is what you make of it. You can be miserable and make everyone around you miserable, or you can be happy, and she lived her philosophy. She loved life and it loved her right back.
