Obit for Hampton
Feb 22, 1927 - Mar 27, 1988

Hampton D. James, age 61, of Shady Point was born February 22, 1927, in Calhoun, Oklahoma. He passed away March 27, 1988, in Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a veteran of World War II. He operated the service station in Shady Point for sixteen years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Shady Point.
Services were held Tuesday, March 29, 1988, at 10:00 a.m. in Evans Chapel of Memories with Reverend E. L. Estep and Reverend Allen Kersh officiating.
Interment was at Shady Point Cemetery (moved to James Family cemetery in the fall of 2016)
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; three daughters, Beverly Killian of Shady Point, Debra McDonald of Muldrow, and Betty Jane Armstrong of Poteau; three sons, Gary of Panama, Daniel of Panama, and Bryan of the home; one brother, Dale, of Shady Point; his mother, Maxine, of Panama; and eleven grandchildren.
