Wanda Jean Barnett Horton was born September 24, 1936 in Walls,
Oklahoma to Oscar and Maggie (Montgomery) Derryberry. She passed
from this life June 11, 2011 in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of
74.
Jean had lived in this area for 65 years and was a member of the
Assebly of God Church in LeFlore County. Jean was a true red head,
but a very loving mother. She often did without so her children
could have things. Her favorite saying was "What you see is what you
get". Jean's grandkids were the apple of her eye and she enjoyed
spending time with them as well as other family and friends. Her
hobbies included fishing, sewing, reading and cooking. She
especially loved helping others.
Jean was preceded in death by her first husband: Robert Barnett;
granddaughter: Tera Barnett; parents: Oscar and Maggie Derryberry;
two brothers: Thomas and Albert Lee Derryberry; nephew: Allen
Derryberry; and a niece: Beverly Weeks.
She is survived by her husband: Guy Loren Horton of Bokoshe,
Oklahoma; two sons: Terry Wayne Barnett & wife Darla of Tulsa,
Oklahoma and Douglas Barnett of Hugo, Oklahoma; one daughter: Tami
Lynn Barnett Smith of Antlers, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Justin
Barnett of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lacy Crites of Antlers, Oklahoma, Eric
Barnett of England, Sommer Kay Barnett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a
brother: John Derryberry of Panola, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and
nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 PM ~ Sunday, June 12, 2011
