A Funeral Service will be held in her honor at First Baptist Church in Red Oak, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Reverend Johnny Montgomery will be officiating with a burial to follow at Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Jones Harkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tony Meaders, Cole Meaders, Tony Jones, Joseph Shaffer, Howard Blankenship, and Brian Hulsey. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Garner, Bill Garner, John Hulsey, and Walter Squires.
Verloyn Lessel (Lowder), was born on December 10, 1936, in Damon Valley, Oklahoma. Verloyn lived the majority of her life in Red Oak, Oklahoma. She graduated from Red Oak Highschool in 1954. Verolyn then married her husband Charles Don Lessel on September 4, 1954, at Red Oak First Baptist Church. Don and Verloyn ran a Honda shop in Red Oak from 1963 to 1978. She was the heart of the home. Verloyns skills were noticed all around the house, church, and community.
Verloyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don Lessel; sons, Jerry Lessel and wife Carla of Panola; Glen Lessel and wife Angel of Wilburton; grandchildren: Kristi Jones and husband Tony of Hartshorne, Dana Meaders and husband Tony of Wilburton, Amber Shaffer and husband Joseph of Panola, Michaela Stamey and husband Daniel of Oklahoma City, and Conner Lessel of Wilburton; eight great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
Verloyn was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon Lowder and Zona Leman (Reid); two sisters: Zella Hollan and Paula Walker.
