He graduated from Wilburton High School Class of 1953. He married Pat Kyle on June 26, 1954, and went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1958. He practiced dentistry in Tahlequah and Wilburton. Dr. Royce enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, and traveling, among others. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Helen Louise Holbird; and his grandson, Dr. Kyle Austin Rozell.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter Patti Rozell and Gary of Tahlequah; son George H. Royce III and wife Jonea of Wilburton; grandchildren, Dr. Sydney Dorrough and husband Aaron, Hank Royce and wife Lydia, and Hannah Royce; and great grandchildren Reiner and Adley Rozell, Reid and Axel Dorrough, and Kermit and Winnie Royce.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at Jones Harkins Funeral Home in Wilburton. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Wilburton with Pastor Anthony Howard and Pastor Dana Hugle officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wilburton.
