Hazel Marie Fowler Bynum

Funeral for Hazel Marie Bynum, Roosevelt, were at 2 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt First Baptist Church with Bob Evans, the Rev. Justin Chapman and Jim Harvey officiating. Burial followed at Roosevelt Cemetery under direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.

Hazel Marie Fowler was born July 9, 1923, in the Consolidated 8 Community near Roosevelt, to E.R. and Mary Fowler and died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at her home at the age of 8

She was married to Dale Bynum on Dec. 22, 1945, in Vernon, Texas. After he graduated from Oklahoma A&M, they returned to Roosevelt. She was a homemaker for many years before deciding to go back to college. She attended Cameron Junior College and received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Southwestern State University. She taught in the Roosevelt and Hobart Public Schools for 18 years until she retired in 1985. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. Through the years, she taught in every department of the church, Sunday school and Training Union, Women's Missionary Union and G.A.'s. She served on the nursery committee, was chairman of the kitchen committee and church clerk for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters: Ruby McCollom and Ruth L. Jackson; a brother, Sherman Fowler; a son-in-law, Randy Smith; and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; four daughters and a son-in-law: Becky Baden, Lawton; Leah and Brian Bobrovicz and Jana Cope, all of Duncan; and Jill Smith, Hobart; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Kale and Amy Baden, Norman; Joel and Ashley Hebensperger, Edmond; Justin Bobrovicz, Florida; Kristi and Todd Ryans, Oklahoma City; Todd Bobrovicz, Denver; Nick and Jenny Hebensperger, Lawton; Jake Smith, Mustang; Jarrod Smith, Stillwater; and Nathan Hebensperger, Weatherford; six great-grandchildren: Hayden Hebensperger, Jackson Baden, Alexsis, Jayden, Zoee and Jillian Ward; a sister, Jessie Courtney, Roseville, Calif., and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
