DIED IN EPILEPTIC FIT - Corpse Found Near Roosevelt Was Avery Ballard
The remains of the dead negro, found in a granary on the Langley place near Roosevelt, were those of Avery Ballard's, who had been in this county less than 2 weeks, coming here to pick cotton.
Guy Parker, acting a special coroner, assisted by Deputies Walters and Parham, conducted an investigation, and it was found that the negro came to his death during an epileptic fit, with which he was regularly afflicted. When first discovered his face was buried in the wheat, and it was presumed he smothered to death.
