T.E. Baird was burned to death and Charles White and Carl Saunders seriously injured in a fire which destroyed the office at the Scott-Foster gin at Roosevelt Friday night.
The fire was caused by the explosion of a stove in the office below, which had been stuffed full of oil soaked waste. Baird and the injured men were sleeping upstairs and were cut off from the stairway by the fire. White and Saunders jumped from a window, but Baird was overcome by smoke and burned to death.
