Funeral services for Augusta ”Jean” Morgan, age 56, of
Cordell were Monday, July 29, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of
Cordell, R.B. Mathis officiated.
Jean passed away Friday morning at United Methodist
Health Care Center in Clinton after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 11, 1946 in Sentinel to Gus and
Charlene (Cannon) Morgan.
She graduated from Mooreland High School in 1965.
She was employed at Robertson's Home Fashions for 27
years.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young
woman and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cordell.
Arrangements were under the direction of Jack Loftiss
Funeral Home in Cordell. Burial followed in the Mountain View Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents
Dewitt and Jessie (Feeser) Morgan and her maternal grandfather Jess
Cannon.
Survivors include her grandmother Driscol Cannon, her
parents Gus and Charelene Morgan, her children Douglas Becker of
Tonkawa, Bradley Peek and wife Kathi of Burns Flat, Lorrane Peek of
Cordell and Misty Duke of the home. Her sisters Donna Frank and husband
Roger of Cordell, Judy Stegman and husband Dennis of Woodward, Kim Heath
and husband Tommy of Woodward and one brother Kenny Morgan and wife
Jeanne of McKinney, TX. Three grandchildren Brooklynn Peek, daughter of
Lorrane Peek and Derrick and Dustin Peek, sons of Brad and Kathi Peek
and also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Those who desire to make memorial contributions may make
them in her memory to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.
