Garvis Able Adkisson was born June 22, 1913 and died on March 9, 1992.
He and Opal McCarson were married on September 6, 1931 and to this union was born two sons Thomas Keith Adkisson and Gerald Mack Adkisson; 1 daughter Letha Roena Adkisson.

Funeral services for Opal Adkisson were held Tuesday at 1pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with a graveside service following at 4pm at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, OK. Visitation was held from noon-9pm Sunday, May 24, with the family present from 3-5pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service.
Opal L. Adkisson was born May 4, 1913, at Delhi, OK, to John and Ida (Jarnagin) McCarson and died May 21, 2009, in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 96. She lived in the Sayre & Delhi area until 1920 when she moved with her family to the Mt. View, OK, area. She attended Oakdale School thru the 8th grade and High School in Mt. View where she graduated in 1931.
On Sept. 6, 1931, she married Garvis Adkisson in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 9, 1992.
She worked in several ladies' dress shops in Oklahoma City before going to work for the Oklahoma State Printing Shop, from which she retired in 1976. Opal was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making dresses for her granddaughters when they were young. She also loved to quilt and made sure all family members had one of her quilts. In her last years, crocheting kept her busy.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Thomas Keith & Sue Adkisson of Snyder OK, Gerald Mack & Earlene Adkisson of OKC OK; daughter Letha Roena & Fred Dimick of Newalla OK; oe sister, Lois McManus of Midwest City OK; 16 grandchildren;31 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents, and one grandson, Kevin Wayne Adkisson.
