Joan was the 3rd of 5 children born to Sherman Stephens and Lorena Mae (Gibson) Smith. She grew up and attended school in Enid. On June 7, 1969, she married her best friend and soul mate, Kenneth Charles Gracey. Joan’s life revolved around Ken and they shared 40 beautiful years of marriage. Joan and Ken raised two amazing children together; Travis Gracey and Bethany (Gracey) Collins. Joan enjoyed visiting the casino and traveling. Her most memorable trip was to Hawaii. She cherished spending time with her family. Joan loved cars. She had a knack for identifying classic cars and could tell you all about them. She loved reminiscing about the adventures she experienced with her brother and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Gracey; her mother, Lorena Mae (Gibson) Smith; her father, Sherman Stephens; her sisters, Karen Culbertson and Sharon Fortune.She is survived by her son, Travis Gracey and wife Marci of Purcell; her daughter, Bethany Collins and husband Jason of Fate, Tx; her brother Gary Stephens and wife Charla of Tonganoxie, KS; her sister Sonja Hughes and husband Don of Dibble; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Burial will follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
