Forest "Nelson" Canipe III was born on Mother's Day, May 13, 1962 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Joyce Ann (Snider) and Forest Nelson Canipe II. He passed away October 5, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years, 4 months and 22 days.
 

Nelson grew up in Hobart where he attended school graduating in 1980. After graduation he found employment in the oil field. He was married to Lori Lynn (Hollins) Canipe on January 23, 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. Together they remained in Hobart where Nelson began working with Parker and Unit Drilling for 31 years as a driller and pusher. In 1998 they moved to the Davis, Oklahoma area where he finished out his career in the oil field before retiring in 2013. They remained in Davis until Lori passed away in late 2017. After her passing he began traveling seeing and visiting his family. Nelson enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing cars and appreciating anything with a motor. He will truly be missed and remembered as a fantastic son, brother, father, papa and uncle.


He is preceded in death by his father, wife, grandparents, Raymond and Delphine Snider and Daphine Sensabaugh.
 

He is survived by 4 children, Michael Morgret, Wheatridge, CO, MacKenzie Canipe Motes and husband, Matthew, Davis, OK, Cody Canipe, Davis, OK and Michala Canipe, Davis, OK; 3 grandchildren, Cloey Digby, Braydn Canipe and Rivurs Canipe; his parents, Joyce Ray and husband, Don, Fernley, NV; 3 sisters, LaVonna Canipe Rhoades and husband, Burt, Sayre, OK, Rhonda Canipe, Elk City, OK and Carla Canipe Wheeler, Weatherford, OK; 1 brother, Donald Ray and wife, Jennifer, Mountain Home, ID and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 

Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
