Funeral services for Elmer W. Brillhart and his wife, Florence Clark Brillhart, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, in First Methodist church, with the Rev. Abe Hester Jr., pastor of First Baptist, and the Rev. Daris M. Parker pastor of First Methodist church, officiating. Burial followed in Hobart Cemetery under the direction of Gish funeral Home.

Elmer Brillhart was born in Hobart on June 15, 1907. He had lived in this community since, with exception of 15 years in the Pryor and Okmulgee area, where he worked in the soil conservation field.

He graduated from Hobart high school in 1927 and received his BS and MS degrees from Oklahoma State University.

Florence Clark Brillhart was born on June 1, 1913 at Helena, Okla. and graduated from high school there. She received her BS and MA degrees from OSU.

They were married April 19, 1931 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and returned here in 1947. They built their farm home northwest of Hobart which was their residence until their deaths Sunday evening, May 31.

Elmer was a widely known soil conservationist and top-ranking dairy farmer. He also assisted Florence extensively in her work, promoting the state mental health program. Her writings, which included magazine articles in vast number, plus three books, "Together We Praise Him" "Worshiping with Women of the Bible" and the last, that she was in process of completing at time of her death.

They filled numerous lecture appointments, organized at least 30 county mental health chapters in Oklahoma, and was the spearhead of the state health organization, on which she served as a director. She had already drafted plans for a fourth book.

Both Brillharts were members and active workers in First Baptist church in Hobart.

Survivors include their two children, Clark Dale, born June 15, 1936, and Mrs. Jimmy Page, born April 9, 1939, the latter presently living in Houston, Texas.

They are also survived by Elmer's mother, Mrs. A. J. Brillhart, 117 West First Street, Hobart; Florence's mother, Mrs. J. W. Clark, Stillwater; Brillhart's brothers and sisters, Melvin J., Hobart; Mrs. Velma Eskew, Verden; Mrs. Verna Waddell, Grand Prairie, Texas; Mrs. Anne Faulconer, Mt. Holly, N. J.
