Funeral service for Janette Grantz, 67, of Hobart, Oklahoma, was held at :00 p.m., Sunday, November 30, 2003, at the First Baptist Church, Cement, Oklahoma, with Rev. James Wilcox, Waxahachie, Texas; Rev. Ronny White, Pastor, Washington Street Baptist Church, Hobart, Oklahoma; Rev. Roger Bennett, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Cement, Oklahoma, officiating.
Mrs. Grantz died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at her home in Hobart, Oklahoma.
Burial was in the Gotebo Cemetery, Gotebo, Oklahoma, under the direction of Robbins Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Grantz was born to W. H. and Dia Demma (Baker) Dole on November 28, 1935, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She moved with her family to Oklahoma in 1950 to Garbar, Oklahoma. She married Rev. O. A. Grantz on February 2, 1951, in Morrison, Oklahoma. They moved to Cement in 1970, where they lived until 1976 and then moved to Gotebo. They moved to Anadarko in 1978. She attended and graduated from USAO, suma cum laude in 1978. She taught special Ed at Gracemont for 2 years and Verden for 8 years. Mrs. Grantz retired from teaching in 1988, and in 1994 they moved to Fort Cobb.
Survivors include: her husband of the home; 1 son, Danny Wayne Grantz, Dickinson, Texas; 2 daughters: Terri Mizel and her husband, William, Arlington, Texas, Laura Jones and her husband Danny, Hobart, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Charles Dole, Quincy, Washington; 1 sister, Diane Eaton, Port Lavaca, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Danielle Black and husband Dusty, Altus, Oklahoma, Chad Douglas and wife Rae Lynn, Edmond, OK; 1 great grandson: Preston Black, Altus, Oklahoma; special friend, Dorothy Kauffman, Verden, OK; a host of many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Wilma Ann Dole; 1 granddaughter, Laura April Jones.
