She completed her elementary education in the Cogar and Minco School Systems, and her high school years in the Enid School System.

On September 11, 1930, she was united in marriage to Lynn Woods, in Enid, Oklahoma. One daughter Lavonne, was born to them.

Mr. Woods was employed with Pipe-Line Oil Companies over a period of many years, necessitating frequent moves for the family. During the first three years of their marriage they were stationed in the

Eastern area of The United States, including the state of Alabama, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Indiana. They returned to Oklahoma in 1933, living for periods of time in Enid, Wellston, Hobart, Snyder, and back to the home in Arnett in 1960. This has remained "Home" for the Woods family these past thirty-one years.

During these years Mrs. Woods worked as a bookkeeper and as a housewife. She attended The Arnett United Methodist Church. She was also a member of The Arnett Social Club, and especially loved being with her family and friends.

She enjoyed her roll in life as a wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a caring and loving friend to all whom were privileged to know her.

Mrs. Woods was preceded in death her parents, George and Ora Beard, and her husband, Lynn Woods. She is survived by her daughter, Lavonne Hort and son-inlaw, Larry Hort, of Arnett, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, aunts, other loved ones, and many friends, who will miss this gracious lady.

Funeral services for Mrs. Woods were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 8, 1992 in the Arnett United Methodist Church with Pastor Kent Woods officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Snyder, Oklahoma. Arrangements were by Shaw Funeral Home of Vici.
