Deceased: Jearldine Hart Curtis
Date: February 5, 2015
Memorial service for Jearldine "Jerry" Hart Curtis, 83, will be at 10:00am,
Friday February, at Add'Vantage Funeral Home Chapel, in Tulsa.
Jerry died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, after a long illness. Interment will be at
Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma.
Jerry was born on July 15, 1931, at her parent's home in Headrick, Oklahoma, to
Orville Andrew Hart and Lois Ann (Jordan) Hart. She graduated from Headrick High
School where she enjoyed sports, and particularly loved playing basketball. She
spent her childhood on the family farm where she loved playing outside and
working in the fields alongside her father. As a child, she accepted Christ and
was baptized in a farm water tank at Twin Elm Baptist Church.
She married Udell Pershing Curtis on December 18, 1951, in Vernon, Texas. In
1966 she and her family relocated to Muskogee where she managed the Kirby
Factory Distributor Office in partnership with her husband. Jerry deftly ran the
office while raising four children and managing her poem.
Jerry is survived by her three sons, Mike Curtis and his wife Phyllis, Pat
Curtis, Shane Curtis and Patty Dye, and daughter, Kim Brewer and her husband
Tony, all of Muskogee. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Austin
Steveson and husband Blake, Karen Thomas and husband Nathan, Ashley Childers and
husband Jesse, Chris Curtis and wife Tena, Bandon Curtis, Michael Curtis, Tony
Johnson, and Nayvee Brewer. Additionally, she is also survived by six
great-grandchildren, Hailey Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Morrison
Childers, Bayon Curtis, and Ryder Curtis. She is also survived by two sisters,
Zane Shelton of Bethany, and Johanna Martin and husband John, of Center Point,
Texas.
While Jerry was a deeply, private person, she was also known for her kindness,
easy smile, sense of humor, deep faith in the power of prayer, and intense
dedication to her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and
grandmother. Jerry was a wonderful cook and took great pride in caring for her
husband and children. She genuinely enjoyed her work in home; cooking, cleaning,
washing and ironing. She was proud of her children and delighted in their
accomplishments as youth in sports and later as adults. Jerry had a ready laugh
and enjoyed a good joke or prank. Her greatest earthly pleasures were her
children and their families. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
