EDMOND — Funeral for Justin Wayne Oney, 28, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Dover Christian Church. Rev. Fred Jones and Chaplain (Cpt.) Brent Crosswhite officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

Justin was born Dec. 20, 1982, and died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, in Edmond.

Justin graduated from high school and joined the Army National Guard in 2001. He was deployed to Iraq in 2003 and again in 2006-07 and served during hurricanes Katrina and Ike.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Collins of Edmond; his father, Richard Oney of Glen Rose, Texas; his wife, Leah Oney; one son, Waylon Carl Oney; one sister, Amanda Oney of Canton; three stepchildren, Whisper, Danny and Aurora; paternal grandmother, Margaret Oney; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Violet Crosswhite.

One brother, Matthew Scott Oney and his paternal grandfather Carl Allen Oney preceded Justin in death.

Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Waylon Carl Oney College Fund.
