Hennessey – The funeral for Marie Witt, 84, will be at 10 AM Saturday at the Hennessy Methodist Church. Jay Jones and Mark Jardine will officiate.
Burial will follow in the
Lyon Valley Cemetery under direction of Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home, Hennessey.
The casket will be at the Sisson Funeral Home in Okeene from 8 AM until 4 PM
today and at the funeral home in Hennessey from 5 to 9 PM.
She was born December 22, 1910, in Kingfisher County to Jake and Cora Wright
Stinson and died Thursday, June 15, 1995 at the Okeene hospital.
In 1928, she married Floyd K. Prouty. They had three children. He died in 1937.
She married Bert Witt. They had twin sons. He died in 1986. She was a member of
the Rebekah Lodge and a lifetime member of the Hennessy Methodist Church. She
also was a butcher for Safeway grocery.
Surviving are one daughter, Eddie Prouty Bierig of Okeene; two sons, Rex Witt of
Hennessey and Frank Kaye Prouty of Ponca City; 11 grandchildren; 28 great –
grandchildren; and two great – great – grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church's building fund.
