Hennessey – the funeral for Blanche Tharp, 86, will be 10 AM Tuesday at the first Christian Church in Hennessey. Pastor Bill Hugueley will officiate.Burial will follow in the Lyon Valley Cemetery under direction of Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home.
She was born September 30, 1908, in Magazine, Arkansas, to Harry and Nettie Smith Hardin, and she died Saturday, November 26, 1994, at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital. She came to Oklahoma at an early age and attended school in Enid.
On March 31, 1928, she married Otto Tharp in Kingfisher, and the couple made their home in Enid until 1935, moving then to the Tharp homestead southeast of Hennessey.
She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone for 10 years and was an Avon representative for 10 years. Upon retirement from farming in 1974, the Tharp's moved into Hennessey, where she was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Jim Tharp, of Muskogee, and Connie Mack Tharp of Yukon; one brother, Lloyd Hardin, of Memphis, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and five great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Hennessey.

Hennessey – Funeral services for Otto Tharp, 87, will be at 10 AM Monday at First Christian Church, with Pastor Bill Hugueley officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Hennessey. Arrangements are by Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home.
He was born August 6, 1906, in Enid to William Bailey and Lucy Morrow Tharp and died Friday, June 10, 1994 at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital in Enid. He married Blanche Elizabeth Hardin March 31, 1928, in Kingfisher. They moved from Enid in 1936 to the family farm in Hennessey, which was homesteaded by his parents. He retired in 1974 and moved to town. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Blanche; two sons, Jim Tharp of Muskogee and Connie Mack Tharp of Yukon; 10 grandchildren and five great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and three brothers.
