Hennessey – The funeral for Kathryn Taggart, 79, who died Friday at Hennessey Care Center, will be at 9:30 AM Monday at Hennessey First Christian Church, with the Revs. Steve Bridwell and Renée Bridwell officiating.Burial will be in Lyon Valley Cemetery, east of Hennessey, under the direction of Cordry & Son Funeral Home.
She was born July 11, 1912, in Drummond to Oscar and Hazel Rikli. She graduated from Enid high school. She married Dee Taggart on May 15, 1932, at her grandparents home in Drummond. They lived in Drummond, Ringwood and Omega. In 1948, they moved to a farm east of Hennessey. They retired in 1974 and moved to Hennessey.
She was a member of Lyon Valley Farm Club, First Christian Church and the CFW. She also taught Sunday school.
Surviving are two sons, Tim of Hennessey and Terry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Carolyn Deaton of Hennessey; eight grandchildren; one great – grandchild; and two brothers, Oliver Rikli of Enid and Carol Rikli of Navato, California.
Memorials may be made to Hennessey First Christian Church.

Hennessey – The funeral for Dee Taggart, 88, will be at 10:30 AM Thursday at the First Christian Church in Hennessey. The Rev. Diane Stein will officiate.Burial will follow in the Lyon Valley Cemetery under direction of Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home, Hennessey.
He was born August 7, 1908, on a farm east of Hennessey to Andy and Mattie Snyder Taggart and died Sunday, December 15, 1996, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Ctr., Enid.
He graduated from Hennessey high school in 1925 and completed a bachelor of science degree in education from Central State University, Edmond. He taught school at Ringwood, Drummond and Omega for 14 years, in addition to custom harvesting for 25 years and farming throughout his life.
On May 15, 1932, he married Kathryn Rikli at Drummond. She died August 23, 1991. They were members of the First Christian Church in Hennessey where he taught the adult Sunday school class for 14 years.
Surviving are two sons, Tim of Hennessey and Terry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Carolyn Deaton of Woodward; one brother, Ivan of Hennessey; one sister, Arlene Poteet of Hennessey; eight grandchildren; and four great – grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Lyon Valley Cemetery.
