CLEVELAND — Funeral service for Ernest Schulz, 83, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery, east of Hennessey. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ernest was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Bison, Okla., to Fred and Hattie Eckhardt Schulz and passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his home in Cleveland. He was the oldest of seven boys and grew up in Bison, Okla.

He married Frances Lavicky June 8, 1952. They raised three children, Ronnie, Terry and Pam.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement in 2007. Ernest enjoyed fishing, dancing, traveling and attending all of the events of his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a great storyteller. His grandkids loved his quick wit and humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frances on June 29, 2012; five brothers, Marion, Merle, Jack, Robert and an unborn baby; and his parents, Fred and Hattie.

He is survived by his sons, Ronnie Schulz and wife Monique of Fort Gibson, Okla., and Terry Schulz and wife JoAnn of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Pam Richmond of Tulsa; grandchildren, Drew and Lauren Schulz of Stillwater, Lacey Schulz of Fort Gibson, Ernie and Kris Schulz of Bartlesville, Kyle Schulz of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Dusty and Kendra Richmond of Cleveland, and Cory and Yancy Richmond of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Blayze, Landon, Connor, Chandler, Sparrow, Link and Arik; one brother, Bill Schulz of Bison; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Lyon Valley Cemetery, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
