Enid, OK — The funeral services for Anna J. Schulz, 98-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Ron Graber will officiate.

Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery, east of Hennessey.

She was born April 7, 1910, in Manitou, OK to William and Iona (Wall) McLaren and died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Greenbrier Nursing Home. 

She attended Bison Schools. On Nov. 23, 1927, she married Herman Schulz in Fairview. The couple made their home on a farm five miles east and one mile south of Bison. In the early 1940s, they moved to the family farm four miles south and one-half mile east of Pioneer where they remained for the remainder of their lives. Anna loved to work in her garden and to textile paint. She and Herman bought an RV and loved to travel to Canton and Keystone Lakes to fish.

She is survived by seven children; Harold Schulz and wife, Rita of Douglas, Delores Weber and husband, Ben, Juanita Schulz, Herman Schulz Jr. and wife, Anna Marie, Shirely West, Charles Schulz and wife, Charlotte and Johnny Schulz; 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman on Dec. 28, 1990, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (Diabetes Division) or to the charity of one’s choosing through the funeral home.

The funeral for Herman E. Schulz, 86, who died Friday at his home, will be at 10 AM Monday at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. The Revs. Ron Graber and Joe Stubbs will officiate.

Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery.

He was born December 25, 1904, near Bison and attended Freedom school. He and Anna J. McLaren were married November 23, 1927. He worked for the state and county, retiring in 1969.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Harold, Junior and Johnny, all of Douglas, and Charles of Waukomis; three daughters, Delores Weber of Bison, Juanita Schulz and Shirley West, both of Enid; three sisters; one brother; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great – grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Garfield County Hospice Circle of Love.
