His mother passed away when he was four years old, leaving him and two older sisters motherless. At age of nine, he accompanied his father in a trip to Oklahoma. They settled on a farm in Woodward County, southwest of the city of Woodward, where Caril grew to manhood. On December 27, 1916, he was united in marriage with Mildred Bellows. To this union five children were born, four daughters and one son. Two daughters preceded him in death in their infancy. In 1918 he and his family moved to Kingfisher county, locating on a farm southeast of Hennessey, which remained his home until his death. Mr. Hawk had been in ill health for many weeks, but was patient and cheerful despite intense suffering. He met the hardships of life with a smile and was always a kind and loving husband and father. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Mildred, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Gorrell , of Mulhall, Okla., and Helen Lamb, of Enid , Okla., and one son, Donovan Hawk of Hennessey; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Hollen, of Iowa, and Mrs. Fred Lee, of Hennessey, and also a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Union Chapel church, northeast of Hennessey, with Rev. Wallace Linton officiating, and burial was made in Lyon Valley Cemetery.
