Hennessey – The funeral for Dorothy Gritz, 57, will be at 10 AM Thursday at the
First Baptist Church in Hennessey. The Rev. Kirk Sutton and Brother L. R. Bud
Babcock will officiate. Burial will be in the Lyon Valley Cemetery under
direction of Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home.
She was born March 31, 1938, in Kingfisher to William Joseph and Creetie Lou
Cullum Brown and died Sunday, April 30, 1995, at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital,
Enid.
On May 2, 1956, she married Bill Gritz in Kingfisher. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church in Hennessey.
Surviving are her husband, Bill of the home; three daughters, Sally McCartney,
Wilma Bohnstedt and Nancy Franklin, all of Hennessey; one son, William J.
"Billy" Gritz of Hennessey; one sister, Lucille Winegar of Conage Park,
California; six grandchildren; one step – granddaughter; and one step – great –
grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, eight brothers and one
step daughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to charity of donor's choice.
