HENNESSEY- The funeral for Leland Berkenbile, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Dr. Don Rogers and the Rev. Franklin Piercy will officiate. Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery under direction of Cordry-Sisson Funeral Home.
He was born December 18, 1932, east of Hennessey to C.O. and Alma Curry Berkenbile and died Saturday, March 8, 1997 at Park View Hospital in El Reno. On March 5, 1955, he married Glenna Belle Taggart. He was a farmer-rancher and an L.P. Gas Supplier. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hennessey.
Surviving are his wife, Glenna of the home; two sons, Jimmy and Terry, both of Hennessey; three brothers, Delmar of Hunter, Hollis of Hennessey, and Vernon of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Irene States of Enid, Juanita Rogers of Dallas, Texas, and Aleene Self of Hinton, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cedar Lake Chapel.

Glenna Belle Berkenbile was born July 17, 1934 to Joe Ben &
Alta Taggart and died March 16, 2019. She graduated from
Pioneer High School and Enid Business College. She married
Leland Berkenbile on March 5, 1955.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy and wife, Beth, and
Terry; four grandchildren, Summer and husband, Dustin
Munroe, Cassie Berkenbile, Joseph Berkenbile and wife,
Rashelle, and Autumn and husband, Tony Blackburn; and five
great-grandchildren, Ethan and Clare Munroe, Aiden
Berkenbile, and Joland and Jabel Berkenbile.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Taggart,
husband, Leland and their infant son, Dennis and her
parents, Joe Ben and Alta Taggart.
Memorial service will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 2:00 PM
at First Baptist Church. A private family interment will
precede the service. Visitation with the family will be
Monday March 18, 2109 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cordry-Gritz
Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Action Team for the Patio Flower Project.
