Funeral Service, Kingfisher.
Thiems was born March 30, 1898, at Stanton, Illinois, to Charles
and Louisa Thiems. The family moved to Okarche when he was six –
months – old. He lived in the Okarche, Kingfisher and Dover
areas all of his life where he was a farmer and retired
stockman.
On January 27, 1921, he married Rosella Reimers at El Reno.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella; eight children, Leslie
Thiems and Mrs. Glenn (Gertrude) Hansberry, both of Salem,
Oregon, John (J. C.) Thiems, Winston, Oregon, Earl and Oscar
Thiems, both of Dover, Mrs. Don (Ruby) Hill, Phillips, Texas,
Mrs. Gene (Opal) Leech, Kingfisher, and Henry O. Thiems,
Anthony; one brother, Herman, Vinita; four sisters, Mrs. Henry
(Emma) Peters, Okarche, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Peters, Union City,
Mrs. Paul (Louisa) Schulze, Claremore, and Mrs. Anna Lierley,
Bennington, Kansas; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great –
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, two
brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Kingfisher hospital.
