The funeral for Benjamin “Bennie” Tarrant, 77, of Ames, will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Hennessey. L. D. Choate will officiate.Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
He was born
Jan. 2, 1933, in Lovell to Floyd and Katie McCracken Tarrant and died
Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Veterans Hospital, Oklahoma City.
He attended school in Marshall for 10 years
and graduated from Lacey High School. He served in the Army in Korea. He
married Nancy L. Murray Jan. 20, 1968. They lived in Ringwood, Tulsa and
Billings, where he served on the Billings School Board for five years.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy, of the home; four sons, Rocky Tarrant and
Teddy Tarrant, both of Tulsa, Mark Tarrant of Tonkawa, and Scott Tarrant
of Bixby; two daughters, Kimberly Holden of Hunter and Amy Basehart of
Enid; two sisters, Bobbie Arnold of Tulsa and Stella Nipper of Fairview;
three brothers, Tom Tarrant of Crescent, Max Tarrant of Tulsa and Loren
Tarrant of Hennessey; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Legion. Published in Enid News and Eagle
