The funeral for Norma Lee States, 90, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 29, 2022, at Dover Christian Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile.

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.


Norma was born in Dover on July 12, 1931, to James "Jim" and Katherine Long Vincent and died Tuesday January 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Enid. 
 
At a young age she moved with her family to Vinita and Norma attended Blue Jacket School. When she was fifteen, the family moved back to Dover where she graduated from high school. 
Norma married Orlan States in Oklahoma City on June 2, 1951.
 
She was a member of Hennessey Farmerettes, First Christian Church, United Methodist Women, the Lacy Card Club, and the Lacy Quilting Group She was also an election poll worker. 
 
Norma is survived by one son, Gary States and wife Dee Dee; one daughter Kathie Matousek and husband James, all of Hennessey; one brother James Max Vincent and wife Vonda of Dover; seven grandchildren Shayne States, Jacob Matousek, Nicholas States, Michael Matousek, Brandi Nault, Renee Matousek, Marie Hladik and twelve great-grandchildren, and other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orlan, one son Dale States and wife Brenda, and one grandson William Shawn States.
 
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Dover Christian Church or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for diabetes with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund. 
 
The service will be live-streamed on Dover Christian Church Facebook Page for those unable to attend due to COVID concerns. 
 
COVID precautions are requested by the family if attending the service in person.
