Marilyn Sue Schutkesting Smith, 80 was born December 13, 1943 to Fred and Charolotte Shaw Schutkesting at her home in Hennessey and died Saturday January 20, 2024 at Hennessey Care Center.


She married Jerry Smith in Hennessey on June 15, 1962, a union that would span over sixty-one years. 

Marilyn was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She took pride in her cooking, homemaking, gardening, and flowers. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who were blessed with her presence. 
 

She is survived by her husband Jerry of the home, three daughters Sherri Fipps and husband Allen, Stacy Sturgill and husband Sheldon, all of Hennessey, Ronda Creevan and husband Chad of Enid; nine grandchildren Tonya Fipps, Dustin Fipps and wife Sandy, Jennifer Fipps,  Carson Rutledge, Jayten Rutledge and Kaylei, Keeton Sturgill and Kacie, Regan Sturgill, Blaney Sturgill, Tryson Sturgill; ten great-grandchildren; one sister Nettie Racer of Hennessey, and several nieces and nephews.


Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Charlotte Shaw Schutkesting, brothers Fred Schutkesting, Bill Schutkesting, and sisters Joanna Pearson, Patricia Martin, and Erma McGee; nieces Paula Schutkesting, Monica Racer, and nephews Freddy Schutkesting and John McGee.
 

The family would like to thank the Hennessey Care Center, Accentra Hospice, and everyone who took part in her care.
 

The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday January 25, 2024 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile and Rev. Sandy Shepherd.

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home or Hennessey Care Center with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
