J. F. Sipe, 62, of Bison, died at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 20, in an Enid hospital, where he had been under treatment three weeks. Peritonitis, resulting from a ruptured appendix following an attack of appendicitis, was the immediate cause of death. Two operations proved futile.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday
morning in the First Christian church in
Hennessey, with the pastor J. Van Buskirk,
officiating, and Waukomis Christian church
pastor assisting. Members of the I00F Lodge were
in charge of the services at the grave.
Interment was made in the Hennessey Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow and son, Roy, of the home and two other sons, Omar, of Waukomis and Chesley, of Bison; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Snyder, of Hennessey; Mrs. Gertie Tate, of Carey, Ohio; one brother, C. D. Sipe, of Chicago, Illinois, and grandson, Boyd Dean Sipe, of Bison. Mr. Sipe was a member of Seven Star Lodge, I00F, of Hennessey, and Hennessey Rebekah Lodge No. 8, Encampment 13, IOOF, and Enid Canton 12, I00F.
