Mary Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Seiber, was born January 18, 1901, and died at the home of her
parents, 6 miles southwest of Hennessey, January 4, 1912, after
undergoing a surgical operation for appendicitis.
Florence, as she was called by her schoolmates, had been in poor
health for some time but for her affliction with much patience
and fortitude, and always had a kind word and pleasant smile for
all. Florence will be greatly missed by schoolmates and her many
friends and especially will she be missed by her parents, who
done everything possible that love and money could do to relieve
her suffering and stay the grim reaper, but the spirit of their
loved one slipped out from the pain – racked body into God's
brighter world, leaving a home desolate.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday
afternoon, Elder J. W. Duff officiating, speaking impressively
from Psalms 42. The services were very beautiful, every detail
manifesting the devotion of schoolmates and friends toward the
departed, and the respect and sympathy entertained for the
parents. Young friends from the Sunday school where little
Florence had attended conducted the song service, and six
girlfriends of about her own age served as pallbearers, each
placing a beautiful floral wreath on the casket at the grave, in
the Hennessey Cemetery, as a mute tribute of their love and
respect.
Little Florence leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn
her demise, and may God's blessings ever attend the sorrowing
ones.
