Grace C. (Walterscheidt) Rothmire
HENNESSEY -The funeral for Grace C. Rothmire, 96, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Christian Church, Hennessey officiated by Rev. Randy Burke. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Grace was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on August 14, 1907 to Charles and Mary Ann Kinsley Walterscheidt and died Saturday, October 25, 2003 at her home in Hennessey. Grace married Roy Rothmire in Hennessey on May 25, 1925. She was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and Royal Neighbors Lodge and Jolly Pals Club. Grace and Roy owned and operated the Farmers Oil Supply (including a Goodyear tire business) along with several other Champlin stations in the Hennessey and Lacey area for over two decades.
Grace is survived by one sister, Agnes "Marte" Scheffler of Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Fran Rothmire of Hennessey; two granddaughters, Cindy and husband Wes Hively of Vida, Oregon, Kim and husband John Cain of Enid; one grandson, Kent Rothmire ofHennessey; four great-granddaughters, Shayla, Whitney, Courtney and Ashlei; two step-grandchildren, John and wife Angie Cain of Richardson, Texas and Kathy Brittain of Enid; special care-givers Evelyn Skinner, Opaleta Blalock and Gayla Haymaker.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Roy; two sons, Don and Jerry and one brother, Leo.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice Circle of Love or the First Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
