The Funeral for Margaret Norris, 97, will be at 2:30 Tuesday June 11, 2019 at The Durant Church of Christ in Durant, Oklahoma officiated by Rev Layne Heitz.

Burial will on June 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Margaret was born November 21,1921 to Joseph and Maud Poindexter in Drummond, OK, and grew up in a large family of seven children. She married John Norris on July 28, 1940 and had two children, Curtis and Kathryn. She was a homemaker, farm wife, mother, and seamstress. She often cooked meals and took them to the fields where the men were harvesting the wheat. She loved to sew and was a seamstress for many years, sewing clothes for ladies in the area and her family.

She was a devout Christian and a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a loving grandmother to Chuck, Shawn, and Regina, and they have many wonderful memories of their childhood adventures with Grandma. She was also a great-grandmother to Lauren and Jacob, who also have many fond memories of spending time with her. She also has a great-great granddaughter, Alayna, who always brought a big smile to her face whenever she saw her. Margaret will forever be remembered by her family as a loving, kind, Christian woman who always put her family first.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Norris, and is survived by her children, Curtis Norris, Kathryn LaPorte & husband Roe LaPorte, three grandchildren, Chuck Gregory, Shawn Gregory, and Regina Bredenkamp, two great-grandchildren, Lauren Schmidt and Jacob Bredenkamp, and a great-great granddaughter, Alayna Schmidt.
