Wallace M. Jones was born at Mulberry Grove, ILL., Dec 15, 1884, the son of B. L. and Rosalie Jones, and passed away at his home in Hennessey, Okla., on July 14, 1952, at the age of 67 years.

Wallace came to Hennessey with his parents in 1907, and for many years they operated a first-class meat market. He was considered one of the best in his trade. On November 10, 1909, he was united in marriage to Desdemonia Davis. Two daughters and one son were born to this union, Eleanor (Jones) Bland, Asher Okla.; LeRoy, Hennessey, Okla., and Kenneth, Revira, Calif. While a young man, Wallace became a member of the First Baptist church in Hennessey. A fine musician in his own right, he played in several church orchestras. He is especially remembered for his beautiful trombone solos. He also served as a member of the school board for nine years. He was an active member of the Masonic lodge and would have received his 25 year pin this year, he was serving as secretary of the lodge at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and children already mentioned, one brother, Charlie, of Hennessey, one sister Mrs. W. C. Brown, EI Reno, Okla. and seven grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Funeral Service for Desdemonia Townsend, 95, was Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hennessey.

Burial was In the Hennessey Cemetery. Rev Travis Hanna. Rev. Mike Downey and Lane Buckley officiated.

She was born in Mulberry Grove, Ill. on September 1, 1889 and grew up in that community, moving to Hennessey, Okla. in 1908. She married Wallace M. Jones November 10. 1909. He died July 14, 1952, and on January 12, 1954, she and Dr. B.I. Townsend were married. He died May 23, 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Townsend is survived by one daughter. Eleanor Jones Gregory of Hennessey and one son, Kenneth Jones, Whittier, Calif.; one brother, Perry Davis, St. Helens. Ore.; three sisters. Faye Hubbard, Kingfisher, Fern Davis, Kingfisher and Mildred Espolt, Fortuna. Calif.: seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, LeRoy Jones, and three brothers.
 

The family has suggested that a suitable Memorial would be the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
