Hennessey – Cecil Hixon, 76, died early Tuesday following an apparent heart attack. He had been in failing health the past several weeks.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday in the First Christian Church at Hennessey with Dr. Ronald Irons officiating.

Burial will be in the Hennessey Cemetery under direction of Cordry and Son Funeral Home, Hennessey.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service with the casket to remain closed following the service.

Hixon was born near Bison, and had spent most of his life in the Hennessey community where he was in the farm machinery business for several years along with his farming. He and his wife, Wilma, were married October 2, 1936.

Hixon was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Mrs. Naomi Stinson, Dover; one son, Sonny Hixon, Hennessey; one sister, Mrs. Burrell Cupps, Hennessey; eight grandchildren; and eight great – grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian.
