The funeral for Walter Carl Harris, 68 will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday October 27, 2021 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. P. J. Stewart. Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Walter was born in Hennessey on October 19, 1952 to Benjamin George and Dora Winifred Rinehart Harris and died Thursday October 14, 2021 west of Hennessey.

Walter attended Lacy Schools until the 9th grade when it was annexed with Hennessey Public Schools. He graduated from Hennessey High School in 1971. Walter joined the U. S. Marine Corps following high school and served seven years in active duty and fourteen years in the reserves.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hennessey.

Walter is survived by two brothers Michael Gary Harris, Donnie Lee Harris, both of Hennessey, two nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Altha Maxine.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
