Louis H. Fuhrmann, son of Fredrick and Johanna Fuhrmann, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on January 3, 1863, and departed this life June 24, 1949, at age of 86 years, five months and 21 days.

He was baptized and Christened into the German Lutheran Church of Erie, when he was eight days old, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at age of 12.

As a young man he later went to Kansas, seeking employment in agriculture. There he met and married Ida Van Treese on December 29, 1889. They established their home in Trinidad, Colorado. The following year they came to Oklahoma and homesteaded a claim 6 1/2 miles southeast of Hennessey. It was home to them for more than a half-century, and in this home were born: John Fuhrmann, of near Caldwell, Kansas; Mrs. J. V. Richards of Hennessey; Mrs. H. L. Cloud, of Wellston, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ermel Hamil, of Alhambra, California.

A firm believer in the church, and the rich blessings and promises of God's holy word and neighborly service to friends and neighbors, he united with the Methodist Church when it was organized in Oak View community and later transferred his membership to the First Methodist Church in Hennessey.

He is survived by the wife of the home, four children, one sister, Mary Fuhrmann, Erie, Pennsylvania, 11 grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
