“Introducing Colby Vauhgn Jeffries!”  When she was young, Colby demanded to be “announced” before making an entrance and entertaining her family. Even into adulthood, when she entered a room, everyone knew she was there because of her “sparkling” personality.  She was a force–to be heard, loved, and reckoned with. She lived life hard and fast and gave beautiful smiles, strong hugs, and contagious laughs to everyone she met. Colby was a shining light that still glows in all the people she has met in her life.

She always spoke her mind, sometimes without thinking. Colby had many interests:  horses, farming, going on adventures with friends (“The Mimosas”), and above all time spent with her son, Don. Colby was preceded in death by her infant son, William (Will) Keith Choate; her paternal grandparents, Darla and Keith Jeffries; and her maternal grandparents, William (Bill) Keith and Donna Lou Simer.

She is survived by her son Don Choate and beloved dog Dally Joe; Don’s dad Dusty Choate and bonus mom Lacey Taylor of Covington; numerous bonus family and friends that loved her; parents, Toni Simer Jeffries of Lamont; Corkie Jeffries and wife Linda of Carney; sister Chi Anne Jeffries of Lamont; brother Clint Jeffries of Pawnee; niece Cadyn; maternal aunt Vikki Simer of Oklahoma City, maternal aunt Michaeleen Paige and husband Derry of Blackwell; cousins Hunter and Axel; paternal uncle Allen Jeffries and wife Teresa of Ponca City; cousins Justin, Kori, Jeanna; paternal uncle Jody Jeffries; and cousins Tisha, Tyler, and Tara.

Graveside services will be held at the Hennessey Cemetery on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM.

Immediately following, the Last Ride will be held at the Hennessey Rodeo Arena.

Family and friends are then invited to attend a celebration of life to be held at Vernost Winery.  Everyone is welcome to attend all celebrations of Colby’s life.
