Cynthia (Cindy) Ann McBride Bowden, age 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on March 8, 2022.

Cindy was born on May 7, 1950, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Hugh Allan McBride and Lajoyee Sue Harber McBride.

Cindy graduated in 1968 from Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma, and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, where she studied History and Art. Cindy was united in marriage to Barry Dean Bowden on March 31, 1969.
Cindy loved gardening, horses, and being involved with her church. Her love, passion, and appreciation for the beauty of life was expressed through her art. Cindy's remarkable talent has been displayed in multiple art shows and galleries throughout Oklahoma, including the showing of "The Trail" in the Governor's Mansion. Her series of religious works hang in several churches across the state. 

Cindy is preceded in death by her grandparents Hugh Allen McBride and Martha Ethel Gwinn McBride of Seminole, Oklahoma, James Russell Harber and Cleta Ellen Kleckner Harber of Seminole, Oklahoma; her parents Hugh Allan McBride and Lajoyee Sue Harber McBride of Enid, Oklahoma; her sister Vicki Sue McBride Hudson of Ouray, Colorado; and her husband Barry Dean Bowden of Hennessey, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her brother James Allan McBride of Enid, Oklahoma; daughter Christian Renee Bowden Hobbs of Lindsay, Oklahoma; son Justin Harber Bowden of Linn, Missouri; several cousins; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of friends she made throughout her life.
 

A visitation and service will be held at St. Stephens Presbyterian Church, located at 2424 NW 50th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service immediately following.

A burial service will be held at the Hennessey Cemetery in Hennessey, Oklahoma, at 3:30 p.m.
