The Memorial service for Mary Kathryn Berta, is 11:00AM Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the Hennessey Cemetery Pavilion. Rev. Alison Burchette will officiate. A private family committal will preceded the Memorial, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Mary was born in Enid, Oklahoma on October 22, 1944 to Eugene and Berniece Merritt and died February 27, 2025 in Sun City, Arizona. She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1962. She still meets regularly with her close friends the Okie Dolie Darlins. She received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Oklahoma where she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. After earning a master's degree she taught school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and then worked with Continental Airlines where she was recognized as employee of the year in 1989.

Mary's adventurous spirit took her to many places in the world. Mary Kay enjoyed exploring and learning about other cultures. She was always generous and loved giving to others in place of receiving. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, and she will be missed by her friends, family, and all that knew her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cary and Laura, her sister Virginia Lee, sister and brother-in-law Linda and Curt, 6 grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, sister Jean Anne, and brother in-law-Dick Autry.
