Karen Jean Themins, 75, passed away Feb. 27, 2018 at Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas.Karen was born to Hillard and Lessie (Choate) Satchell in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended Lacy school and graduated from Hennessey High School in 1960. Karen married Jim Themins in 1965. They had to children Sandra Kay and Steven Ronald. Karen spent most of her life involved in the farming community. She had a special love for dairy cattle and goats. Karen said that working with animals gave her peace.
Karen is survived by daughter Sandy Fails, son Steve (Tammi) Themins all of New Braunfels; brother Dennis (Ruth Ann) Satchell of Kingfisher; sister Patsy Zerger of Norman; four grandsons, Joshua (Hannah) Fails, Jordan Fails, Wesley and Preston Themins; great granddaughter Kennedy and soon-to-be born great grandson, Asher; and several nieces and a nephew.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant daughter, Sara Jane.
A memorial service was held on March 2 in New Braunfels with burial following at a later date at the Harmony Cemetery.
