The funeral for Robert L. “Bob” McElvany, 89, will be at 10:00 AM Thursday January 12, 2023 at Loyal United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Debbie Biehler. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

Bob was born in Prague, Oklahoma on November 7, 1933 to Rev. Coleman Senone and Medie Shepard-McElvany and died Saturday January 7, 2023 at his home in Loyal. He married Lzena Warren in Loyal on June 15, 1953. Bob was in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957, where he received a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. After his military service he worked Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base where he retired in 1987. Bob was a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church, Kingfisher American Legion, and was a former Boy Scout Leader.

He is survived by daughters Diane Hardin, and Terri Judkins, both of Yukon; grandchildren Brandon Hooks and wife Dawn, April Wellman and husband Steve, Brad Hardin and wife Randi, Bobby Hardin, Alysia Davenport and husband David, Ricky Hardin; one sister-in-law Mary Lynn Ogle; twenty great- grandchildren; and three great- great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lzena, one daughter Robin McElvany, one granddaughter Ashley Judkins, one great-great grandson, three brothers Buster McElvany, Loren McElvany and Dr. Harold McElvany, one sister Loretha Sanders, one son-in-law Bill Hardin, and one brother-in-law Jack Ogle.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Loyal United Methodist Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
