A graveside service for Jack R. Sturgeon, 86, will be 2 p.m. Monday in Cimarron Valley Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Bunch will officiate. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
He was born May 11, 1921, in Ames to Leroy M. and Marie K. Milbers Sturgeon and died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, in Greenbrier Special Care Center.
He attended school in Lacey and served in the Army during World War II. He married Mildred Jean “Midge” Craddock May 5, 1948, in Hennessey. He was a farmer, rancher and member of American Quarter Horse Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Howard and Nora Sturgeon, both of Hennessey; one son, Tom Sturgeon of Perkins; one sister, Dorothy Ann Haden of Cedar Vale, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Midge, three brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cimarron Valley Cemetery Association.
