The graveside service for Elsie R. McCartney, 85 year-old Bison resident, is 2:00PM Thursday, March 2, 2023 in Cimmaron Valley Cemetery near Lacy. Pastor Dave Jones will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
 

Elsie was born August 19, 1937 in Hennessey to Leonard and Bethel (Cronister) Davis and died Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her home in Bison surrounded by her family. On March 13, 1954, she married Melvin McCartney. The couple settled in Bison in 1969.
 

Elsie worked with Richill's Cafeteria as head pastry chef for 32 years until Mr. Autry retired. Elsie enjoyed sewing her entire life and made clothes for all of her children. But her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren .
 

She is survived by her children, Ed McCartney of Bison; Debbie McCartney; Calvin McCartney and wife, Rutheen; Cindy Reed, all of Waukomis; Wanda Kayea and husband, Chuck of El Reno; nine grandchildren, Eddie, Melvin, Deana, Tricia, John, Blake, Krystal, Melissa, and Erika; seventeen great-grandchildren, Brendon, Gage, Ty,  Shay, Adrion,  Paige, Leah, Chloe, Lain, Lilly, Vivian, Gabriel, Westley, Myles, Ozzie, Nyxie, and George; three great-great-grandsons, Maddox, Ronin, and Kyce; three brothers, Clyde, Lyndon, and Alfred Davis as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; son, Westley; brother, George; and four sisters, Etheleen, Betty, Sandra, and Brenda Sue.
 

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to OMRF (Bladder Cancer Division).
