Funeral services for Alma N. Vancuren, 97, of Cashion, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Cashion Christian Church with Chaplain Gene Owen and Pastor Jerry Sullaway officiating.

Burial will follow at Cashion Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie, OK.

Alma was born on October 12, 1911 in Lockridge, OK to Elmer and Alice Redmond. She died Sunday, February 8, 2009 in her home surrounded by family and loving caretakers.
She loved her church and served as a deacon and treasurer for several years. She was also involved as secretary/treasurer for the town of Cashion. She farmed and ranched for many years.

She married Floyd Vancuren on March 10, 1934 in Enid, OK.

She is survived by a half-sister and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Alma is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Companion Hospice, 1314 East Oklahoma, Guthrie, OK 73044 or Cashion Christian Church, P.O. Box 86, Cashion, OK 73016.
