James “Jim” Alan Beutler was born March 26, 1926 in Lockridge, Oklahoma to Herman and Alice Jane (Robson) Beutler. He passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 in Clinton, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Cashion High School in 1944. Jim married Ina Grace Eakins on September 3, 1948 and they were married for 68 years. They lived in Cashion for 27 years and then moved to the country in June of 1979.

Jim served in Korea while in the United States Army. He was a member of Cashion Christian Church and a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge for 50 + years as well as being a charter member of the Cashion Lions Club to which he also belonged for 50 + years. He was a Honorary member of the Cashion FFA and retired from Sohio Petroleum Company after 31 years of service. Jim also retired from farming in 1995.

He was a son, father, brother, soldier, husband, deacon, provider, breadwinner, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and community leader. He cherished his close relationships with his wife and children, close family friends, and community.

Jim enjoyed taking walks outside, visits from family, talking about farming, tinkering with gadgets and puzzles. He also enjoyed singing songs and had a great sense of humor and could talk backwards and wiggle his ears.

He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Alice Beutler, grandson Lance Wayne Beutler, Betty Reasoner, Kathy White, Paula Roberts and 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ina Grace of the home, his daughter and son-in-law, Rita Carroll and Wiley of Cashion, son Jeff Beutler and wife Patricia of Cashion as well as his 2 nephews that he raised, John West and Jim West. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jennifer Sheline and Mike of Edmond, Chris Carroll and Holly of Cashion, Jared Beutler and Amanda of Guthrie, Brittany Beutler of Yukon, Keith White and Stephanie of Cashion, Kevin White and Robin of Yukon and Jim West and Alisha West of Cashion. Also surviving Jim are his great-grandchildren: Derek and Brook Sheline, Maggie and Reed Carroll, Hendrix and Ava Beutler, Paxton Burnette, and Braden and Brylee White. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Cashion Christian Church with Pastor Howard Faerber and Pastor Doug Hinkle officiating.

Interment will follow at Cashion Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
