29 Oct 1953 Thu Page 4Funeral services were held at 9:30 AM Wednesday in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Bison for Charles Schovanec, 53, who died Monday in an Enid hospital following a short illness.
Schovanec was born in Bison. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Knights of Columbus and the K. D. Recitation of the rosary was at 7:30 PM Tuesday with Father John O'Brien officiating.Burial was made in the Hennessey Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of the home near Bison; five daughters, Mrs. Ernest Petr, Drummond, Mrs. C. F. Hromas, Meno, Mrs. Ernest Matusek, Hennessey, Mrs. Wilfred Kokojan, Waukomis, and Miss Shirley Schovanec of the home; three sons, Leonard, Waukomis, Charles, Hunter and Virgil of the home; five sisters, Mrs. W. R. Semrad, Waukomis, Mrs. Joe Krejci, Waukomis, Mrs. Ed Pattock, Hennessey, Mrs. John Evers, Sterling, Colorado, and Mrs. Frank Catlin, Enid; two brothers, Louis of Sioux City, Nebraska, and Jim of Hayward and 13 grandchildren.
The community extends sympathy to all relatives of Charles Schovanec for he was indeed a friend to everyone.
