The Mass of Christian burial for James "Jim" Robert Kokojan, 73, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison. A Bible wake will be 6:30 p.m. today, May 29, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison, with Father Roberto Quant officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery, Hennessey, under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jim was born Oct. 17, 1935, on the Centennial farm near Waukomis to Joseph Mathew Kokojan and Adella Ann Walta and passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He was raised in the Waukomis community, where he attended school. 

Jim married Marlene Apel Oct. 24, 1959, in Bison, Okla. He farmed and was a cattleman in the Waukomis/Bison area. 

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison, Knights of Columbus, Oklahoma Cattleman's Association and National Cattleman's Association. 

Jim is survived by his wife Marlene of the home; two daughters, Janelle M. Sharp of Enid and Lori A. Day; two sons, James Robert Kokojan and Joseph Mathew Kokojan; one sister, Jeanette Allen of Enid; and six grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Jimmy Kokojan Soil Conservation Scholarship Fund or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marlene C. (Apel) Kokojan, age 82 years, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison, Oklahoma with Father Edward Menasco celebrating Marlenes life.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Hennessey, Oklahoma.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bison, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Marlene was born December 14, 1936 in Enid to Henry and Rose (Descher) Apel, and passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at The Commons in Enid. Marlene was born and raised in the Enid community, graduating from Enid High School. She married James Jim Kokojan on October 24, 1959 in Bison, Ok. They made their home in Waukomis where Jim farmed and raised cattle and she was a homemaker and stay at home mother to four children. She and Jim were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bison, and she was a lifetime member of the Bison Alter Society. She was one of the best cooks around; always making a favorite dish for Jim and each of their childrens birthdays. After Jim passed away in 2009, Marlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and especially enjoyed working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Kokojan; two sisters, Rosie LaRue, and Dora Mae Meloy.

She is survived by four children, Janelle Sharp and husband Gary, of Enid; Lori Day and husband Mike, of Ames; James Kokojan II and wife Michelle, of Enid; Matt Kokojan and wife Staci, of Waukomis; six grandchildren, Bobby and wife Hannah, Whitney and husband Luis, Cody, Garrett and wife Lauren, Colby, Kaelyn; and expecting one great-granddaughter, Vanessa. She is also survived by four sisters, Bernice Pierce, Louise Montgomery, Betty Miller, and Sue Ellen Elliott.

Memorial contributions in Marlenes name may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Bison or the Alzheimers Association with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
