Prayer vigil for Dorothy M. Hladik, 89 were at 7:00 p.m. Tues. April 17, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial were at 10:00 AM Wednesday April 18, 2018 officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco. 

Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

Dorothy was born in Enid on November 13, 1928 to Fred Marion and Nellie M. Boyer Cole and died Friday April 13, 2018 at the Commons in Enid. She graduated from Enid High School in 1946 and St. Mary’s Nursing School in 1949 where she trained earning her Registered Nurse Degree. She was very influenced by the Sisters of The Precious Blood while working at St. Mary’s for approximately ten years. Dorothy married Cyril J. Hladik at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Enid, at April 5, 1950. In addition to St. Mary’s Dorothy worked at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital for twenty years in recovery and skilled nursing. She was well known in the medical community in Northwest Oklahoma. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a longtime member of the Mothers Club, the Oklahoma Polka Club, volunteered for blood drives and was a volunteer for RSVP. She was an avid researcher of her family’s genealogy and enjoyed her many trips to verify or find records.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters Elsie Marie Siegmann and husband Dennis of Hennessey, Frances Cecilia Hladik of Enid; three grandchildren Jo Ranae Newberg and husband Robbie, Matthew Lane Siegmann and wife Jorena, Carrie Catherine Siegmann; seven great-grandchildren Megan, Robert, Nellie Rose, Kimberly, Tim, Jr. (T.J.), Hayden, Aaron; one brother Charles M. Cole of Sidney, Ohio.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Cyril, one brother Joseph Lee Cole and her parents. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
