Enid Morning News

Hennessey – Lucy Gabriel, 91, died Thursday evening at a local nursing home. Office of the Dead will be at 7:30 PM Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Monday at the church with the Rev. John T. Zagar officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry and Son Funeral Home.

Born June 15, 1895, west of Waukomis, Mrs. Gabriel grew up in that area. She married Frank Gabriel May 20, 1913. They farmed east of Bison until moving to Hennessey in 1957. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was the oldest member of Number 1 Oklahoma Polka Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Rose A. Pacula and Helen Hajek, both of Hennessey; two sons, Albert and Ernest, both of Hennessey; 12 grandchildren, 21 great – grandchildren and 11 great – great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Church.
